# Duplicate Filter

Duplicate Filter reduces repeated business records.

## Protection layers

* Duplicates inside the current search
* Duplicates between categories
* Duplicates found in earlier saved searches

## Why final results may be lower

When many candidates already exist in the local dedupe index, Geo Prospector may finish below the target instead of returning repeated records.

## Operational advice

* Keep the filter enabled for recurring campaigns.
* Back up the local data folder.
* Do not delete dedupe data while the application is running.
* Use a clean project strategy only when you intentionally need a fresh market scan.
