# Local storage and backups

Default application data location:

`C:\GeoProspector`

The folder can contain:

* Search results
* Exports
* Application support data
* Duplicate Filter indexes
* Local security state

## Backup recommendation

Back up important exports and application data before major Windows changes, drive migration, or application troubleshooting.
