# Installation

## Download

Use the official installer:

[Download `GeoProspectorSetup.exe`](https://github.com/visi-digital-internasional/geo-prospector-update/releases/latest/download/GeoProspectorSetup.exe)

Expected file name:

`GeoProspectorSetup.exe`

## Install

1. Close all running Geo Prospector windows.
2. Download the installer from the official release channel.
3. Run the installer as Administrator.
4. Follow the Windows installation prompts.
5. Wait until all runtime and security files are copied.
6. Launch Geo Prospector from the desktop shortcut or Start menu.
7. Confirm that the installed version is `6.7.15.1`.
8. Open **Activation** and verify the license status.

Do not copy only the main executable to another computer. Geo Prospector depends on its bundled runtime, browser components, signed security-anchor manifest, and signature file.

## Upgrade an existing installation

Run the latest installer over the existing installation. After upgrading:

1. Reopen Geo Prospector.
2. Confirm version `6.7.15.1`.
3. Confirm that the existing license is detected.
4. Run a five-record smoke test.
5. Verify that Results and export functions work normally.
